We’d like to share an exciting announcement: we’ll soon be selling more silver jewelry in our store! In March I traveled to a small but breathtaking village, surrounded by the beautiful mountains. I spent five unforgettable days in a workshop led by Nicole Ringgold, a renowned silversmith jewelry artist.
Nicole is an amazing woman. She has a very positive, optimistic energy and makes incredible nature-inspired jewelry to match. Her butterfly, beetle, and leaf necklaces will stun you with their meticulous details. You’ll feel like you’re holding an actual creature in the palm of your hands that could take flight at any second, or a flower bud that’s just about to blossom – that’s how real her creations look. The master class took place in Nicole’s spacious greenhouse studio. The studio is filled with all the tools necessary for working with silver and making jewelry. I learned a lot of new techniques that I’m now able to incorporate into my designs, such as silver fusing, stone cutting, soldering, and much more.
I finished a lot of projects during that week, but my proudest accomplishment was my ladybug. It was quite difficult initially but it turned out to be doable. First I had to cut out all the details, and then combine them with a torch. Finally, I added the polish.
The piece ended up being a success, just like the entire trip.
